Treasure hunting

What I wore......

Black spotty crop top - vintage * Cream vest top - New Look * Acid skinny jeans - Primark * Pixie boots - George at Asda * Hand bag - had it too long to remember.

I went treasure hunting on Sunday with my mum and brother at the boot fair :)

Bought some lovely things which I will post a photo of tomorrow.
I found a vintage flash gun for my SLR, a vintage camera for only £1, some spotting heels, retro postcards, cherry hair slides, some daisy beads for my 'pandora', a vintage leather strapped watch and a mickey mouse strap for me camera :)

All in all a good days finds.

Here's a peek at a couple of the stalls.......

I really wanted the light fitting, but its just too big

Pretty stall, filled with bunting, jams and hand made goodies :)

Hope your all enjoying the nice weather, and looking forward to the Long weekend

Black, white & .... red.

White silk sleeveless shirt - charity shop
Zip up skirt - H&M
Leather jacket - Dorothy Perkins
Lace up boots - Vintage
Locket - Topshop
Brooch - Juicy Couture

Hello all, Just a quick 'what I wore' post, which sadly now has gone back to involving jackets!!
What happened to the nice weather??

Also I would like to introduce you all to Betty.....my new car :)

Isn't she pretty. I have had her for a few weeks, but haven't had a chance to show her off yet lol.

I did however spend this afternoon polishing her though, hence her shininess, it was well worth the work, even if it did turn me temporarily red.....

Spell it out for me

Well, today was my first day in my new job......it went brilliantly :)

And after a fantastic weekend spent with my best friends, this month has really kicked off to a great start!

Moving back into blog land, I have recently found a liking for spelling.....let me explain.
I really rather like decorative pieces that spell out a lovely word, which may have just been the worse description ever so take alook at the photos I took in Cambridge. 'BAKE' is china and 'HOME' is fabric.

Pretty little things, so I may attempt to make one somehow, all I need is to think of a word to use....?

Oh, one more photo for you, this did make me giggle.....

....that's right, socks that say I heart Primark.....classic giggle stuff.

17

I have unknowingly developed a new found love for Boots make up range, 17.

I say unknowingly because, it just seems that when I have gone out to buy a replacment of something, I end up with 17 in my make up bag.

My most recent venture being thier photo flawless mascara, that has a tint of pearlescent colour, to match to your eye colour, mine is blue, and this gives your eyes a bit of sparkle.

These are the bits I have in my make up bag at the moment.

Clockwise from top left. Extra fair concealer, even tone correction cream, photo flawless lashes, soft eye liner pen! and pink grapefruit nail polish.
Anyone else found a love for this make up?

New beginnings

Hello all, sorry for not blogging lately, but I have been run off my feet with work this last few weeks.

Anyway, I finally have a new car, she is a red Mazda mx3 and is called Betty and also I will be starting a new job in a weeks time, which means great news for my blog, as I no long have to wear a hidious uniform and can start doing 'what I wore' again .... yay! I do have to wear smart black, but I take this as a challenge :)

Also I just wanted to show off my new one sleeve dress. It took me a little while to get used to, but I do rather love it now.

Is it summer yet??

I got all excited at the prospect of warmer weather the other day, and went and fell in love with some summery bargins.

Now all I need is for summer to hurry up so I can wear them without looking a little silly.

Sun hat - £1 and yellow Gap dress - £2.50.

Friday night boots

It's rather leathal working so close to shops with 75% off sales!! However, it did mean I completely by chance found myself these little beauties today.

I've been after a pair of Chelsea boots for a while, and just by chance they were on sale for £10 today in Matalan of all places!!

I love them. In fact I love them so much I have changed my Friday night outfit just so I can wear them

Dance in the rain

I have been having a bit of a blog block lately. Work has been a bit manic and I haven't felt very inspired lately I'm sad to say.
But I think this photo I found shows all you need to know to move forward....

Some time all it takes is to learn how to dance in the rain.

Someone like you.....

I heard this tonight on the radio for the first time, and it just stopped me in my train of thought and gave me goose bumps.
The lyrics just trickled over me as they told me a story very much like one I know all too well.

'Yesterday was the time of our lives.......'

Camden

My brother and I went for a little day trip to Camden yesterday to see what bargains we could grab ourselves. We had a good day on the bargain front. With my brother finding a long leather coat for only £5 and a new satchel bag that the strange Thai lady insisted he tried on many times. I got myself a vintage kilt for only £5 too, plus other lovely pretty things too like a Swallow belt buckle and an Indian beaded necklace.

Top to toe finds

Over the last few days being off work has given me the chance to have a bit of a rummage in my local charity shops and I got myself a few pretty things.

I found the snake skin style hand bag the other day and it suddenly occurred to me that I did not own a nice brown handbag so it had to be mine, and in the same shop I also fell in love with a little black fur hat from 1950's Belgium.

Today, I went for a little wander around another shop with my Mum, and found this lovely pair of black pixie boots which I just spent some time polishing up, and a cute little head scarf, not that I don't already own millions, but enough is never enough with scarves and me.

All together with the right dress and coat, they will look really nice. Couldn't have planned it better if I had tried.

I would do a post on what I wore over the last few days, but the weather has been a bit rubbish of late, and so my coat and scarves cover all. However I am going to London tomorrow with my brother, so will let you know what wonderful things I find.

To my surppreeze

Whilst waiting for my photos to be developed yesterday, I decided to see if I could find somewhere to get my nails done. Unsuccesful, I resorted to buying some to do myself.
I chose some rediculously cheap nails at for £2 for 20 with the intention of painting over them once I had reshaped them from long square talons, to oval nice length nails, but to my surppreeze (Can you tell I've been watching Lemony Snicket lol) they actually look really quiet nice for bargin nails.

Not bad hey? My Dad even thought they we're my real nails and was shocked, as it is only recently I have stopped biting them, and so growing them if proving hard work.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend

My loves for this week

* Twiggy - I have recently discovered I have shoulders and collar bones now my hair is all gone, and feel very twiggy-esque when I notice them * Knee high socks - Some spring weather seems to be on it's way, and this means I can once more wear shorts and socks with boots without looking, or indeed being, cold * Carpet bags - I have a love for them, maybe this is why I can be counted on to have everything in my bag, a true Mary Poppins * Ed Van Der Elskin - I adore his photography, he is by far my most loved, but this photograph just captures me, it's so beautifully vulnerable * Daffodils - I know it's early still, but the fact that I can see them in the shops just makes me feel happy, I'd rather them than roses any day.

It's going to be lovely

This is pretty much how I looked as I walked out of work today knowing I was now off for 2 weeks.
Ahhh, 2 weeks ....... It's going to be lovely.

Dungarees

I thought I'd cringe at the idea of ever wearing dungarees beyond childhood,  but to my amazment I am rather excited at owning a pair of dungaree shorts again.

I bought them a few weeks ago in the final dregs of the Topshop sale, hidden on the floor under the sale rail as I was walking out, and amazingly they fit me.

Can't wait until summer to splash about on the beach in them, but for now I may just attempt to pull them off with thick tights, woolly jumper and boots.

The pair I'm really jelaous of mind you, are Marina, of Marina and the Diamonds' mickey mouse dungarees. I saw her wearing them on tv not long ago, with yellow high heels, and it was instant jealousy, but I do love a bit of wacky fashion.

Oh how I want them..... ♥

What I did & wore today

Today I ventured into town in search of a pair of tapered chinos, because I am getting way ahead of myself by beginning to feel like spring is on it's way. After trying on about 20 different pairs, in many different styles, and discovering that most places don't believe anyone can be a size 6 and have long legs at the same time, I found the perfect pair in H&M. I also ended up with some good little bargains. I found some purple suede high heels for £7 in the final sale in a little boutique. A black sheer shirt from New Look tall range, not quite like the type I'm after, because it has a pussy bow and hearts on it, but is pretty non the less, and a pair of big black flowery earrings for £2.50 from Topshop. Since I have had my pixie hair cut, which is only 3 weeks old and I am in love with, I have a new found love for big earrings, how very 70's of me....

The weather was not amazing today, in fact it rained, so as much as my pretty dresses were calling me, I felt I should wrap up warm, especially as I have come down with laryngitis this week :(

Black maxi skirt - H&M
Stripey cropped jumper - Primark
Brogue boots - River Island
Beads - from jumble sale
Earrings - Topshop

And yes, I did wear a coat and scarf, my aviator to be precised, it kept me so warm it was almost too warm.

I welcome February with open arms, as it means we're one month cloder to Spring, and I can start thinking of jackets ratehr than coats :)

Merry new year!

Hello all, seems a while since I last blogged, as my laptop decided to go and break and then I fell ill.
Although I am still recovering, blogging today has cheered me up :)

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and new year, and that you all got lovely gifts from Santa!

I took a little photo of a few of the lovely things I woke up to on Christmas morning :)
(excuse the flash bleaching)

1. A little zombie fairy doll (weird yet cute, just my style),
2. A 1920's camera, can't wait to get a film in it and have a go, I'll post my results.
3. Sophie Dahl's cookery book. I think she's lovely, and so are her recipes.
4. Alice in Wonderland on DVD. I adore anything Wonderland!!!
5. Red leather driving gloves from my brother. I've worn them to death already.
6. I got 2 vintage glass perfume bottles, the green one in the photo, and a gold-ish one as well, both beautiful!
7. I also got 2 vintage Stratton compacts. The one with daisies on in the photo, and another with deco designs which is pride of place in my handbag.

I received some other beautiful things too, for both Christmas and my birthday, to which I would like to say thank you to my best friends who know me so well and made me very happy on my 22nd!

Anyway, now I have my laptop back, I will maintain my blogging habit :)

Happy 2011 everyone!
